Book Your Dream Accommodation in Milford on Sea

Do you dream of a pad by the sea? Hearing the sea from your bedroom window? Then perhaps 2026 is the year for you to visit Milford on Sea and take up residency in your own dream home for a while.

There’s nothing like entering the door of a holiday home, where everything is neatly arranged, beautifully decorated and plenty of places for you to explore. There is something definitely freeing about leaving your own mess behind and starting from scratch in an immaculate new place. You’re not there long enough for things to slide – it’s like the novelty of moving into a new home before it becomes just like the old one.

But our friends at New Forest Cottages who have 11 holiday cottages in Milford on Sea say January is traditionally one of the busiest months for booking holidays and being organised early really pays off.

Here are their top 5 tips on why you need to book early:

The best choice of places to stay

Booking ahead means you’re not compromising. Whether you’re after coastal views, Milford on Sea’s village centre, a dog-friendly cottage or a big garden – early bookers get first dibs!

Spread the cost

Most holiday cottages only require a small deposit to secure your dates, leaving plenty of time to save not just for your accommodation, but for extras like meals out (Milford on Sea is a real foodie hotspot!), tickets for activities and visits to attractions.

Have something to look forward to

Knowing you have a breakaway to look forward to will bring a smile to your face and make the months fly by. Especially when it’s about spending time together and enjoying a change of pace.

Time to plan

Once your dates are booked, the fun part begins. You can explore everything there is to do on the Milford on Sea website, from coastal walks, finding a new hobby – paddle boarding, anyone? to nearby towns, festivals and events – all without a frantic, last-minute rush.

Getting homelife organised

Securing dates well in advance makes life easier all round for everyone. Time off work, organising help for elderly parents, and sorting pet care can all be a struggle if left too late.

Check out the selection of properties available at New Forest Cottages and their friendly team can take the hassle out of finding your perfect holiday. On their books is Columbia House (sleeps 8) where you won’t tire of the wonderful vista across the busy mariner lanes of The Solent to the Isle of Wight. New to the village is Carrington Farmhouse, a Grade II listed holiday home, just a short stroll from the village centre and sleeps up to eight people. But if you’re coming with extra family and friends you could book out Carrington Stables next door.

We’re also lucky enough to have some independent holiday homes with us, including Plover Cottage, a 200-year-old dog-friendly cottage with two double bedrooms and a courtyard garden. Just minutes from the village and sea, there is no need to venture further afield if you don’t want to as everything is on your doorstep.

Also check out Joyful Cottage a two bedroom pretty cottage, Sea Walk Cottage, a three-storey end of terrace townhouse and Daneside, a three bedroom welcoming retreat, all easily walkable from the village.

But if you want a seafront location take a look at No 53 Sea Road, a modern three floor home with sea view of The Needles and along the coast to Bournemouth.

If a self catering cottage isn’t for you then Milford on Sea has a number of bed and breakfast, two hotels, an eight acre caravan and campsite and a renowned holiday park so whatever your style of budget, there is something for everyone.

Family run, Vinegar Hill Pottery offers unique B&B accommodation and rewarding pottery classes and caters for families, couples and glampers with a spirit for adventure. You can choose from a spacious family suite, a romantic hideaway or “Rosie”, a lovingly restored 1885 ‘gypsy’ wagon (with private shower room).

You’ll also be sure of a warm welcome at Dee’s Bed and Breakfast a chalet bungalow offering high-standard bed and breakfast accommodation with two comfortable en-suite bedrooms.

But if you’re looking for a hotel experience then check out South Lawn Hotel, a 51 en-suite former country house with fine views over beautifully manicured gardens or The Beach House, a grade II listed building, now part of the Hall & Woodhouse brewery and has 14 en-suite bedrooms and views across to the Isle of Wight.

It’s also worth checking out Shorefield Country Park if perhaps you’re looking for all the on-site facilities that a holiday park can offer you. The park offers stunning self-catering accommodation and a range of facilities, including swimming pools, restaurants and entertainment.

Its sister site, Lytton Lawn Touring Park is also available to those who prefer sleeping under the stars, offering camping and touring pitches in a peaceful parkland setting. Guests staying at Lytton Lawn also get complimentary access to all the leisure facilities at Shorefield Country Park.

If you’re looking for traditional camping without the strings then Muddycreek Farm, a 28-day August pop up campsite could be for you. There’s no swimming pool, no laundry blocks, no strings of static caravans. In fact, if you came here in mid September you’d never even know the site exists. Yet in the height of August the 60 pitches each harbour a colourful tent, set out in the expansive 15 acres of space, there’s no danger of being hemmed in by other people’s guy lines.

So, whatever accommodation you prefer, Milford on Sea definitely has a match for you – take a look at our page and book today.
