Visit Milford on Sea Imogen

#mymilfordonsea

Imogen, 21 is currently in her second year of a degree in International Hospitality Management at Oxford Brookes University.  She moved with her family to Milford on Sea three years ago from Kent. Imogen had reservations at first about moving to a seaside town as she liked being near London but hasn’t looked back since!

When I think of Milford on Sea I think of…

The village green either packed with people for the Music Festival or crowds of carollers and Christmas trees. I love it in the summer as to how packed it gets with locals and holidaymakers enjoying a drink on a warm summer’s evening. The slow pace and the nearness to the sea makes you feel like you’re always on holiday. It is so friendly and has a lovely sense of community. All Saints Church is worth a visit to see the beautiful church building, but also to receive a warm welcome from the lovely people inside!

MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY SPOT IS…

The beach, we own a beach hut so whatever the weather we go down and sit by the sea, watch the waves, swim, paddleboard or just eat fish and chips and chat with people walking by.

MY SECRET SPOT IS…

The Pleasure Gardens and the Danes Stream –  it’s like walking into a secret wood, where you can just sit and relax and it’s a nice way to escape from the world.

MY TOP PLACE FOR A DRINK…

It would have to be The Lighthouse, which is right on the seafront. I work there during the summer, it is owned by Hayley and Steve, who also run the Cliffhouse in Barton On Sea. There’s nothing better than sitting there with a cocktail whilst watching the sun go down.

MY MORNING COFFEE SHOP IS…

The Needles Eye Café, as it does a lovely deluxe hot chocolate, great for a winter walk by the beach, as well as ice creams and snacks all year round.

MY FAVOURITE INDEPENDENT SHOP IS…

No64 Biscuit House in the village is a designer boutique, owned by Clare and Glenn, which has lovely individual items from candles to wellie boots!

MY MILFORD ON SEA FOODIE WEAKNESS IS…

The Coastal Bakery in the centre of the village, I can’t resist the sausage rolls and the doughnuts!
