For such a small village, we’re known for our big events. Here in Milford on Sea we don’t need much of an excuse to get together and have a good time.

Here’s a taster of what not to miss in the next couple of months:

5th May – Motown & 70s Disco

Celebrate the King’s Coronation with The Bridge (formerly Milford on Sea Community Community) at this Motown & 70s Disco.

Featuring:
• Motown
• Northern Soul
• 70s Disco Inferno

8th May – Milford Celebrates

A traditional Community May Day on the Green. Many of the local organisations have come together with The Bridge (formerly Milford on Sea Community Centre) to bring you this fun community event in honour of the King’s Coronation and The Big Help Out.

Programme of Events:

Pre-Event performance – Windmill Quintet

11am          Maypole Dancing (Milford on Sea Girlguiding) – Arena

11.30am     Fancy Dress Competition (Royal Themed) followed by Milford on Sea Primary School
Choir – Arena

12pm         Fairground Rides open (Carousel & Helter Skelter – wristbands for these can be
purchased in advance). One wristband per person for unlimited rides. Individual
rides can be purchased for £3 per person on the day.

12.15pm     Performance by West Gallery Quire – High Street

1pm           Dog Show by The Friendly Dog Club – Arena (Classes: 1pm Handsomest King, 1.15pm
Prettiest Queen, 1.30pm Prince/Princess with the most appealing eyes, 1.45pm
Best Regal Fancy Dress)

1.30pm      Morris Dancing by New Forest Meddlars

2pm           Reeds in Harmony – By the Tree on the Green

2.30pm      Afternoon Tea at The Bridge with music by The Rambling Men

2.30pm      Competitions and Games in the Arena

3pm           Morris Dancing by New Forest Meddlars

3.45pm      Closing Performance in the Arena

3rd & 4th June – Dogsitval

Outside of Milford on Sea, but worth a visit if you’re in the area is the coolest dog show in town, Dogstival. Taking place at Broadlands Estate, Romsey about a 45 min drive from Milford on Sea, Dogstival is a fantastic dog friendly festival for dogs and dog lovers. Amazing arena displays, have a go activities, food and drink and much more.

14-16 July – Lymington Seafood Festival

This little boutique festival brings together the region’s best artisan food and drink producers with great live music and entertainment.

There is live music throughout the weekend and on the Saturday there is a tribute night welcoming Niqi Brown as the ‘queen of rock and roll’, Tina Turner.

21 – 23 July – Milford on Sea Music Festival

The 2023 Milford on Sea Music Festival returns and this year we’re super excited that the main stage returns on the Green. 19 musical acts have been signed so far and the headliner for the Saturday night, John Illsley of the legendary Dire Straits has been booked, expecting to draw big crowds.

This is a free event but please purchase an events programme from retailers in the village to help fund this amazing community event.

Also check out Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum as there is a host of events taking place, with the Spring Auto Jumble on Saturday 5th May kicking off the event-packed season.
