Best Beer Gardens in Milford on Sea

There’s only one thing better than a good pub and that’s a good pub/bar with an excellent garden – which is why we’ve rounded up our top picks from Milford on Sea’s superb selection.

From cosy hidden courtyards to sprawling gardens complete with play equipment for the children, we’ve got a garden to suit every situation… so round up your friends, grab a pint or cocktail and head outdoors.

The Beach House
This Grade II listed building is now run by Hall & Woodhouse brewery and boasts over 200 outside covers. With its fantastic raised patio areas and extensive gardens it provides you with great views across to the Isle of Wight on a clear day. You can pop in here for just a drink or you can enjoy a meal outside from its extensive family-friendly menu.

The Lazy Lion
This charming pub in the heart of the village holds the authenticity of a true English local and has a large pub garden, giving you the opportunity to enjoy some al fresco dining or drinks. The play area is also perfect for keeping the kids entertained and of course our four legged friends are welcome too.

The Smugglers Inn
Again a popular traditional English pub in the centre of the village and just a stone’s throw from the beach, The Smugglers Inn has an extensive outdoor heated seating area. It also has lots of picnic benches in its garden overlooking a stream and a playground for the children. Dogs are always welcome here.

The Cave
Situated opposite the picturesque village green is The Cave, a wine bar where you can enjoy a fine selection of wines, craft beers and cocktails. There’s Parisian style pavement seating outside to enjoy in the summer months to watch the world go by or picnic benches on the Green opposite.

The Gun Inn
This newcomer in the pretty hamlet of Keyhaven, just a mile outside of Milford on Sea is making headlines on the local food scene. It has a covered seating area outside for up to 60 people and a further 60 seats available outside too.

The Lighthouse

More restaurant than pub but there are amazing high seated tables outside and a front courtyard that you can enjoy a drink from and take in the beach vibe.

Between June and September, The Lighthouse hosts its ‘Summer Sundowners’ with live music outside from 6pm.

Ray’s Italian Kitchen

This little gem has a sun-soaked courtyard ‘terrazza’ garden at the rear where you can enjoy a drink or two. It’s just off the main village green and also has a couple of pavement tables where you can also enjoy the atmosphere of this quaint village.

South Lawn Hotel

This popular hotel can be found at the entrance to the village and has a beautiful garden where you can relax with friends/family and enjoy some refreshments, a quick snack or indulge in a three course meal

So there we have it – Milford on Sea’s best beer gardens for while the weather’s still permitting. But get a move on, the sun won’t hang around forever.
