Visit Milford on Sea young family

#mymilfordonsea

Justin grew up in Milford on Sea and now lives in the village with his wife, Lucy and their two small boys.

When I think of Milford on Sea I think of…

A great village to bring up our children. We have a fantastic community and school, plus an outdoor lifestyle with the beach and countryside on our doorstep.

MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY SPOT IS…

The walk along Hurst Spit – to the West you’ve got the white cliffs of old Harry’s Rock and Swanage, the Solent and Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower in the distance to the East and then the Isle of Wight’s gentle hills in the South. No matter what the weather is like, the views are breathtaking.

MY SECRET SPOT IS…

Great Newbridge Copse, where on a Spring morning the wood’s floor is carpeted with bluebells and bird songs echo all around.

MY TOP PLACE FOR A DRINK…

Going out for a drink as a couple is a rarity with a young family. So when we can, a treat to The Cave for a cocktail or The Wash House for a local ale is bliss and we can stumble home.

MY MORNING COFFEE SHOP IS…

We often go for a morning dog walk during the weekend and we often stop off at the Paddle on the Green for our favourite coffee. Friendly staff and great coffee and cakes!

MY FAVOURITE INDEPENDENT SHOP IS…

One of the great aspects of the village is the independent shops. We are so lucky to still have them. We support them as much as we can. From great meat at The Butchers on the Green to fresh bread at The Coastal Bakery. Each one has its important role within the village.

MY MILFORD ON SEA FOODIE WEAKNESS IS…

As a family The Lighthouse has been a favourite. We’ve always felt welcomed with young kids and the food is great.
