The modern country style kitchen is well-equipped to rustle up a quick meal with produce from the butchers opposite, or ‘catch of the day from the wet fish market a little further down the road. Dine in the kitchen or, if there’s just the two of you, grab a pew in the dinky courtyard garden and watch the world go by.

Head upstairs to the first floor, where you’ll find the living room. It’s bathed in plenty of natural daylight from the picture window overlooking the High Street, providing a perfect vantage point to sneak a peek at village life. There are squishy sofas and chairs with scatter cushions to flop in to and relax after a day exploring and a flat-screen TV, DVD and iPhone/iPod speaker docking station for your entertainment if you’ve decided on a night in.

On the same floor are a bathroom and two homely bedrooms, each with a double bed decked in pretty linens, creating the perfect haven to catch up on those Zzzz’s.
