About

Discover the wonderful sport of coastal rowing with Rowing Adevntures. It offers the gateway to safe, socially-distanced, single sculling in and around the Solent.

Sessions are suitable for all ages (8yrs+) and there is an entry point for all abilities. The ‘Try Rowing’ session is the perfect way to be introduced to rowing a single scull. The session covers safety, launching and recovering and an introduction to the basic movement pattern. It gives you the opportunity to get a taste to see if coastal rowing is for you.

This course is part of the ‘Learn to Row’ programme and is only offered on a 1:1 for safe assessment and efficient progression. Following on from this, you can enrol on the ‘Confidence in Space and Balance’ session, which focuses on the basic skills of manoeuvring and balance in a single scull. The expert coaches will guide you through the basic British Rowing Omnium Skills in sheltered water.

The aim of these sessions is to prepare you to ‘scull in a single’ safely and effectively and to experience the ‘glide’. It also prepares you for ‘Session 3: Competence in Balance and Space’ if you wish to explore rowing further, with the ultimate aim of reaching ‘Session 4: Passport to Explore’, where you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to explore safely by yourself on completion.

Learn to Row courses are currently based in Lymington, but if you’re holidaying in Milford on Sea, courses can be arranged here or in the harbour village of Keyhaven.
