Welcome to The Wash House Micro Ale Bar – a family run bar, managed by mother and daughter, Jacqui and Rebecca and a wonderful team – located in the idyllic village of Milford on Sea.
It is just a short stroll from the beautiful Solent and the historic Hurst Castle. Here at The Wash House, the team is passionate about working with the best artisan providers from The New Forest and South Coast. It has an ever changing choice of traditional ales, award wining gins, wines, wide choice of soft drinks and an endless list of ciders. As a matter of fact, it won second place in CAMRA’s Cider Of The Year 2019.
The beauty of being an independently owned bar is the freedom to trial new products so as the seasons change so do the craft ales at The Wash House. In the summer months it is known for its gin pitchers, enjoyed by many on the local green and mulled wine in the winter to keep its customers warm!
So why is it called The Wash House? The venue used to be a place to wash your smalls and catch up on the local gossip. Today it serves a great beer and offers a place to still catch up on the local gossip. Its unique and quirky decor adds to the character of the original laundrette, with lights made from washing machine drums and even one table containing someone’s laundry, come and see for yourself!
The Wash House is all about supporting local businesses and since it doesn’t have a kitchen, it encourages you to bring in food from local take aways. It can supply you with plates, cutlery and the perfect drink to accompany your food. Alternatively, you can order food from La Perle restaurant through The Wash House and it will deliver straight to your table, what more could you want?! If you fancy something a little smaller, you’ll be able to nibble on a range of bar snacks that are perfect with a pint of local ale or a glass of fizz.
