Sleep@Sea saloon

Welcome to Sleep@Sea and Turnstone & Shelduck, two 1970s Westerley Centaur yachts, offering an ‘on-board’ off-grid stay in a one-of-a-kind coastal location.

The boats are moored in an idyllic lagoon in Keyhaven, Hampshire, which are accessible via water by paddleboard or kayak, catching a small passenger ferry or by taking a gentle 2-mile walk along Hurst Spit.

The boats, heaped with nautical charm sleep 2-8 guests across both and are cosy, clean and comfortable, allowing you to truly embrace the sea air and great outdoors.

They are beautifully maintained and full of original features. It sits alongside a fixed pontoon, so no sailing experience is required.

On both yachts you will find a charming saloon and galley on board. The saloon has a cosy L-shaped sofa, perfect for curling up and reading a book or there’s a pair of binoculars for spotting the plentiful bird and sea life.

Off the saloon is a compact double cabin at the front and two single ‘cupboard’ cabins at the rear, suitable for children, plus a small storage area. The sleeping accommodation, whilst snug, is flexible, suiting couples, friends or small families that like each other!

Up on deck there is room to spread out and sunbathe, with cushioned seating in the cockpit to enjoy supper at sunset. There is also a sun/shower canopy.

With more than a touch of the Swallows and Amazons about it, you’ll experience back to basics, simple living in a spectacular location. Both boats are equipped with the essentials for a truly off-grid experience. On the shared pontoon there’s a gas BBQ and hob for outside dining.   The pontoon also houses our ‘loo with a view’, which is waterless, environmentally friendly, and odourless.

The boat facilities are 100% solar powered and designed for simple, off-grid living – so no hot running water or indoor showers. But you will find everything essential for a rejuvenating wilderness stay.
